Gus’s babysitter (Hi, Kelley Anne!) is studying Human Growth & Development in school and needed to interview a four year old recently as part of her
coursework. An excerpt from the questionnaire she did with Gus appears below.
Are you ever tired?
No. I’m never tired. I only yawn, but I’m never tired.
Can you tie your own shoes?
No. I don’t know.
(Editor's Note: Thanks, Velcro).
Are you more like your mom or dad?
Like my mom.
Why?
Because I kinda look like her. There are more
reasons but I don’t know them.
Do you like to tell your friends what to do?
Yes! I like to tell my friends if they can’t play in a
center, but Ms. Joan tells me not to.
Do you like it when your friends tell you what to do?
No! I don’t like it when my friends tell me I can’t play. It’s mean.
Who of your friends do you play with the most?
Dominick! I really like him. He’s nice. But he picks his boogers
more than me.
What’s the main difference between a boy and girl?
Girls aren’t that silly and boys are really silly.
Can girls play with trucks?
Yes!
Can boys play with dolls?
No. I mean they can if they want. I sometimes do.
Do you eat healthy food or junk food?
Both! Corn and green gum.
Do you like being four?
No! I want to be 5.
Why?
Because 5 is much better than 4!
